Awakenings fanzine - Issue #1

Here is the first issue of Awakenings zine, published during the Spring of 1998 by Paul Piantedosi, a gentleman from the western Boston suburb of Waltham, Massachusetts. There are interviews with Pin Drop Records, Smorgasbord Records, and the bands Follow Through, Holdstrong and Up Front. Alongside with visiting those institutions, we also have record reviews (including a G. Love and Special Sauce review, which was not what I expected to find within these pages), New England-area scene reports, a few live pictures and some ads. There are also local band and record label contact pages, as well as a quick overview of editor Paul's favorite local pizza parlors, which was probably helpful to somebody other than me. A valiant effort, and especially worth peeping if you liked to mosh it up during the late 90s, as I did. The ska inclusion was cool I guess, but not my cup of tea. I'll stick to the sing-a-longs, finger-pointing and stage dives, thank you very much.

What wasn't cool was the fact that Mr. Piantedosi forgot to include the zip code in the contact address for his zine...whoops!
